The Monthly Rundown - Austin in April

The weather is finally starting to get a bit warmer here in Austin. That means that spring is just around the corner! Here are a few great local spots to help you take advantage of this beautiful time of the year:

Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trails

Lady Bird Lake is a beautiful park nestled right along the banks of the Colorado River. It is filled with over ten miles of hiking and biking trails, giving you plenty of variety for enjoying a day in the outdoors with your family or friends. You’ll also have the chance to take in stunning views of the city skyline as you take a leisurely stroll through the park. The park provides a perfect chance to escape the hustle of city life so that you can reconnect with the beauty of nature.

Barton Springs Pool

The Barton Springs Pool is a three-acre body of water that is fed naturally from underground springs. This keeps the water temperature at a comfortable 70 degrees throughout the year, although it is particularly enjoyable when the weather is warm. The pool is closed on Thursdays for cleaning, so plan your outing accordingly. If you’re lucky, you may even see a few Barton Springs salamanders, an endangered reptile that calls this protected area home.

SoCo District

The SoCo District is a trendy neighborhood offering everything you could want for a fun day out. From a wide range of restaurants and bars to art galleries and artisanal craft shops, there is something in this area for just about everyone. Wander around and do some shopping, or set up camp on a restaurant’s outdoor patio and watch the crowds go by. There’s always something new to see!

Donation Spotlight – Sportsmen’s Foundation for Military Families

The Sportsmen’s Foundation for Military Families (SFMS) takes military veterans and their families on exciting guided adventure tours throughout the country. These tours give families the opportunity to go on a trip that they might not have been able to otherwise and can often help with recovery after returning from duty.

Moving Tip of the Month

If your old house is still on the market by the time you move out, don’t forget to take plenty of pictures while it is clean and empty. These can be valuable for potential buyers, giving them a better sense of the space and allowing them to project their own thoughts and ideas into it. This can help to make selling your home a much easier, quicker process.
